Alix is a personal coach and the owner of Avancer Coaching. She focuses on one-to-one coaching of individuals who want to move forward and make exciting changes in their person and professional lives. She also offers group coaching for couples wanting to enrich their marriages.
Alix enjoys being a small business owner. She started her first business in 1993. For eleven years she wrote seminars and trained teachers, parents, and librarians on various topics in the area of beginning reading for young children. While working as an educational consultant, her book on guiding and encouraging reading was published by Portage and Main Press. Stepping into a new profession and opening Avancer Coaching was a relatively easy transition for this entrepreneur. She now brings together the experience of a 27-year career in education and the best coaching practices to inspire her clients to personal excellence.
Having completed her training at the Coaches Training Institute, Alix was awarded her CPCC (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach) credential. She has also earned her ACC from the International Coach Federation. Her education includes a BA in psychology and education from Hollins University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Richmond.
Alix has been happily married to her best friend and soul mate for 30 years. The couple has been blessed through the raising of a daughter and son, both now in college.
